Coming off the disappointing Invictus, I hope to do a lot better tonight with Akeelah and the Bee. Thinking I'll be in good shape, I'm a pretty big fan of Fishburne and this seems like one of those fun uplifting kind of movies. I can go for that, though Invictus was supposed to be...gah, ok, stop rehashing that.
I actually have a history at spelling bees, I was always good...to an extent at them, I just never kept track of the letters I was saying. I remember spelling the word "cheapskate" like "cheapsteak" and was shocked when I was told to sit down. Bastards...I'd have rather had a cheap steak. Regardless, we'll see how this one goes. Hoping it won't be a disappointment...but it's about children for God's sake!
